“Hey man, you’ve got to come out to L.A. tonight!”(嗨,你今天一定要来洛杉矶!)
“Wassup? I was thinking about catching up on sleep. I’m tired as hell.”(怎么了?
“Why? You’ve been fighting wars with the girls again?”(干吗?
“No but seriously, this sorority is throwing a party tonight in LA. Guess which school they are from? USC. And they are mostly art majors, dance, film, painting, music, you name it!”(说真的,今天晚上又一个女学生联盟会的派对。
“Wow, sounds interesting. But, dude, I am really tired.”(哇,听上去真有意思,不过我真的很累了。)
“Oh, listen to you, bitching about being tired like a little bitch. Hey, you’re my bro. I remember what you said to me, and I am gonna hold you accountable for it. You once told me that to build a social network, you need to know rich people that can help you, remember? These kids are ART majors, they are music majors, they are from USC, rich, spoiled, they can help you! Best of all, they are beautiful women!”
“Danny, let me think about it, alright. I really don’t think I can drive to Hollywood today.”(Danny
“Don’t fetch man, I’ll drive you there. You’ve came through for me in the past, my turn now.”(别担心,我带你去。
“Haha, awesome, sounds good. Alright, let me get ready then, pick me up in half an hour.”(哈哈,好啊。
这时候我突然想起了Neil的话,“When in doubt, wear black and white.”(不只该穿什么的时候,选择黑白配。)
接下来,他把拦截线松开,对我们说,“You guys can come in now.”(你们可以进来了)
“This is my buddy Tao, he is the impressive musician I was talking about, at the age of 16, he already put together a orchestra and conducted a few concerts for people.”(这是我的好朋友Tao, 他就是那个非常厉害的音乐家。
“Wow, that’s impressive. Hi my name is Lily; I am the president of this organization.”(哇,真厉害。
“Pleasure meeting you。”
“You know, I’ve heard a lot about you from Danny, that's why I told him that he has to bring you to this part tonight.”(我经常听到Danny提起你,所以我告诉他今晚一定要把你叫来。)
“My pleasure, why don’t we go in and talk.”(我很高兴,我们进去说吧。)
“Hey girls, this is the Tao that I’ve been talking about, he is an awesome musician.”(女孩子们,这就是我以前提起的Tao,他是个很厉害的音乐家。)
“He is cute. How old are you?”(他真可爱,你多大了?)
“Well Ma’am, I am actually 88, I just don’t smoke. Why do you ask? Oh, I see… it’s okay; I’ll give you a minute to work the age thing out.”(女士,其实我已经88岁了,只不过我不抽烟。
那个金发女郎一边笑一边说,“Oh my god, that's so fucking awesome, you’re sleek, no one is like that smooth.”(天啊,太好玩了,你真的好滑呀,没有人这么滑。)
“Well madam, they call me Bond… James Bond。”
“Oh wow, that was a great impersonation. I like him, he’s funny.
“I have a feeling that we can get along quite well missy, unlike you’re friend over there who tried to gave me shit.
“What do we have here? Are you guys like in a gang or something?”(这是怎么回事,你们几个是什么黑帮的吗?)
“Are you guys like best friends or something?”(你们几个是最要好的朋友吗?)
“Oh yeah, of course we are!”(我们当然是呀!)Sharon回答着。
“You know, I can totally tell.”(我一眼就看出来了。)
“How?”(为什么?)
“You guys make, exactly, the same… Movements! Not to mention you’re name all start with S’s, you guys are like in the triple S gang or something. That’s dangerous; I can’t talk to you guys anymore.”(你们几个的动作。。。
我转向了Danny他们指着Danny和Lily问,“By the way, how did you guys all meet?”(对了,你们是怎么认识的?)
“We met during a football game. It was a USC versus UCLA game. He was cheering his heads off LA with his friends, and naturally my friends and I were cheer for USC. I gotta tell you we didn’t get along at first.”(我们是在一场美式足球塞上认识的。
“That’s interesting. What happened afterward?”(有意思,之后发生了什么?)
“Okay, during midtime, I was grabbing a drink, then suddenly, this guy in front me turned around and he was like ‘hey quick question, guys and girls, who lies more?’ I realized that he was the guy that's cheering for LA in front of me earlier, so I was like ‘guys like you.’ But he just smiled and said, ‘I can already tell, you and I, we’ll never get along. You know why? It’s because we’re too similar.’ Now I’ve never had guys who I just met say that to me. Normally they just ogle all over me and, well Danny is different.”(在中场的时候,我正在排队买饮料。
“Haha, that's awesome. At that point did you know that Danny is a great Pianist? He doesn’t like me talking about this, but he used to play at this hotel’s café, and every time he played, he would literally melt all the beautiful girls’ heart away. Of course he doesn’t ogle, they all ogle at him.”(哈哈,真棒。
我看了看Stacy然后向她伸出了一只手,“Stacy, want to accompany me for a bit? I am gonna take a look around, join me, I wanna show you something cool.”(Alice,陪我去转转,我想看看这附近,跟我一起来,我要给你看点东西。)
“Guys, we will be right back, I am gonna take a look inside.”(大家,我们马上回来,我想去里面看看。)
“So where do you go to school?”(你在那里上学?)
“UC Riverside。”
“Oh, what are you majoring in?”(你是学什么的?)
“I don’t know, Business?”(我不知道,商业学?)
“Oh man, let see, fashion design?”(嗯,想想,时尚设计?)
“What makes you think that?”(为什么那么想?)
“Because you dress very fashionably. I like your shirt.”(因为你穿的很时尚,我喜欢你穿的衣服。)
“Why thank you, but you guessed wrong. I am a music major.”(噢,谢谢,但是你猜错了。
“Wow, music, do you play an instrument?”(哇,音乐,你会什么乐器呢?)
“Nice, what are you planning to do with it?”(真好,你以后准备干吗呢?)
“I am actually going into composition and conducting.”(我正在主攻作曲和指挥。)
